A next generation 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training
THE ESSENCE OF YOGA IS EXPERIENTIAL
Tuesday | 6:00pm-8:00 pm
Communities Rizing is a next generation 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) course focused on the values, methods, and skills to create classes designed to address the needs of BIPOC communities.
The essence of yoga is experiential, and the role of a teacher within the Communities Rizing framework is regarded as an experiential educator.
Our goal is to provide a direct experience and focused reflection in order to increase knowledge, develop skills, clarify values, and develop people’s capacity to contribute to their communities.
CURRICULUM: How to Design and Lead a Vinyasa Yoga Class
Our curriculum is focused on learning to lead and design a Vinyasa yoga class. You will gain a thorough understanding of the foundation and principles to design a class appropriate for all ages and body types. This will include a specific sequence and more importantly, the methods for adapting this sequence to create infinite opportunities implied by the word “Yoga.” These methods cultivate awareness and foster growth for both the teacher and the student.
One of the joys of teaching is a consistent Yoga practice. All YTT sessions will include asana, meditation and pranayama instruction with opportunities for practice.
- You will learn to teach the therapeutic principles that will allow your students to practice safely with intensity.
- You will learn to sit comfortably in meditation for 45 minutes; learning what it means to “rest in stillness.”
- You will become proficient in many breathing techniques that prepare the mind/body for asana AND meditation.
Your “on mat” practice will begin to feel dynamic as you apply the therapeutic principles you have been learning. You will experience a vibrant “aliveness.”
